Description
Expect a cup that’s clean, bright and well-balanced, with juicy fruit character, rich chocolate undertones and a hint of brown sugar sweetness. The washed process gives the coffee clarity and crispness that works beautifully in filter brews, pour-overs, Aeropress or a sweet, defined espresso.
Ths standout single origin coffee comes from the celebrated Finca Nueva Granada Estate in San Marcos, Guatemala. Sourced from the Monte Flor section of the farm estate, only hand-picked cherries are processed with precision and respect for tradition. This washed coffee offers a beautifully balanced cup with layered sweetness and vibrant clarity.
Finca Nueva Granada is one of Guatemala’s most respected coffee estates, nestled on the rich slopes between towering volcanic peaks in the San Marcos coffee growing region, known for fertile volcanic ash soils and consistent quality. This lot comes from the Monte Flor block of the farm, where meticulous harvesting and fermentation techniques highlight natural sweetness and varietal expression.
Guatemala - Monte Flor
Most of our coffees are suitable for all brew methods. Some will shine more brewed certain ways but that is ultimatley down to your own personal preference. However you chose to brew your coffee always make sure your using fresh beans, weigh the amount of coffee your using, time your brew and weigh the yield of your coffee.
A guide for home double espresso could be to use 18.5g of coffee, and extract in 25-30 seconds for a yield of 35-40ml.
A guide for home filter coffee could be to use 19g of coffee, brewed in 3-4 minutes with a yield of 250ml of water.
Once you have these or any other starting point you can then experiment and adjust your recipe to acheive the taaste you want. For example, for a slightly strong cup use more coffee or try a lower yield amount.
