What's Covered: Introduction to Coffee (30 mins) - Where coffee comes from - How it is grown - Variables of coffee - Growing conditions that impacts the grade and taste of coffee - Processing methods used by farmers which impact the taste - Introduction to sustainable sourcing - Introduction to roasting and how different styles impact the taste Barista Skills (60 mins) - Basics of espresso quality - Understanding espresso extraction and the variables that impact the taste - Introduction to commercial machines and grinders and how to calibrate / quality check - Milk steaming techniques - Introduction to latte art and pouring technique. - Maintenance – How to correctly maintain and look after your machine
